About Department

Human anatomy forms the foundation of clinical practice, diagnostic radiology, emergency medicine and surgery. Hence, special care is taken towards training students in the applied aspects of anatomy. The department aims to instill excellent knowledge of anatomy, as relevant to dental students. All branches of anatomy are taught using various teaching modalities, including the latest 3D anatomy software installed in the lecture halls. Gross anatomy knowledge is enriched by dissection and demonstration of dissected specimens in the dissection hall. Histology, embryology and genetics are taught with emphasis on the functional and clinical importance. The practical labs are also the places where students are first sensitised to the core values of professionalism and ethics. Use of the learning management system in teaching-learning and integration of e-content in learning allows our students to access necessary learning material and guidance at their own pace.
