No – Tobacco Day: Department of Public Health Dentistry is celebrating “No – Tobacco Day” on 31.05.2018.
International Women’s Day Celebration: Sri Ramakrishna Dental College all the members are invite for the occasion on 09.03.2018. The faculty members were honoured for their remarked service in our institution.
‘The World Day against Child Labour 2019’ On 12.6.19, the Youth Red Cross members participated in the program organized by the National Service Scheme of SRDCH, Coimbatore. Mr. R. Naresh Kumar, Youth President, Abdul Kalam Vision India Movement delivered the guest lecture .
Dental Camp: A dental camp and oral cancer detection camp was conducted for the drivers on 06.06.19 at Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College in association with the department of Oral medicine.
World No-Tobacco Day celebrations: To create awareness about the ill effects of Tobacco, the following Programs were planned. Anti-Tobacco Drive: The students along with the staff members walked to the Nava India Traffic Junction, Coimbatore with banners and placards emphasizing the ill effects of tobacco. The students also distributed pamphlets containing awareness messages to the motorists and pedestrians at the traffic junction 0n 31.05.2019
Short Film Competition: The students participated with passion and gusto and three entries were received among which there was innovation and novelty of concept. The competition helped to raise awareness among the students about the ill effects of tobacco in all forms on 31.05.2019
Awareness Campaign for Sanitary Workers: Around 20 sanitary workers participated in the program. They were informed about the various ill effects of tobacco. They were also informed about the steps to self-examination of oral cavity to identify any changes in the oral mucosa on 31.05.2019
The Youth Red Cross unit participated in the Voluntary Blood Donation Camp organized by Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Blood bank in association with Red Ribbon club of our institution held on 4-5-19. The volunteers of Youth Red Cross contributed to the success of the camp by actively participating and donating blood. A total of 43 staff and students donated blood.
Clean campus initiative was conducted on 12.01.19 & 6.4.19 and Student volunteers along with house- keeping staff carried out a cleaning drive of our college campus.
In celebrating World Oral Health Day on 20.03.19, Department of PHD organized and participated in the camp conducted at Marakazool Ulloom Ansariya, Podanur. The orphanage residents were educated through audio-visual aids in the Mobile Dental Unit. The final year students had organized various interactive games and buzz sessions to create oral health awareness amongst the residents.
OMFS day was celebrated on 13th Feb 2019 with a theme – “Road traffic accident awareness”. Public awareness about the same was created through Flash mob and Puppet show by the students near the entrance of SRDCH. OMFS awareness video released by AOMSI (Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India) was played in the Conference Hall and it was attended by the Faculty and students of SRDCH. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons across Coimbatore graced the occasion.
25 Years of IAPHD celebration was organized by the PHD department from 29/11/2018 and 3/12/2018 and 4/12/2018. Dental camps were conducted at corporation primary school, Peelamedu and JJ nagar and Vellalore to commemorate the same
Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI) organized an Awareness Run on 27/09/2018. Faculty and Students of SRDCH participated with enthusiasm in the run.
The NSS Unit of SRDCH conducted “Teachers day Celebration – Tree Plantation” program on 05.09.2019. As a part of this program many trees were planted in the campus to emphasize the importance of planting trees and saving water. To foster student – teacher relationship, 5 saplings were planted by staffs and students together. Dr. Dinakar J, Principal SRDCH inaugurated the saplings and gave a talk on the importance of teachers in every student’s life.
The NSS-YRC- RRC units of SRDCH with Department of Transfusion Medicine SRH organized “National Voluntary Blood Donation Day” on 01.10.2019.
National Cancer Awareness: The YRC Unit of SRDCH conducted, “National Cancer Awareness” program on 07.11.2019. A short lecture on ‘Lifestyle and Cancer’ was delivered by the chief guest Dr.Bhargavi, Consultant Surgical Oncologist, Sri Ramakrishna Hospital.

International Prosthodontics Day: Department of Prosthodontics celebrated the International prosthodontics day on 22nd January 2020 at our institution premise and conducted various programs like public awareness regarding negligence in replacing the missing teeth, art from dental materials and short films. All undergraduate students, interns, post graduate students and faculties, 93 people actively participated in those events and made the day remarkable. Those events not only emphasised our fraternity but added the innovation in our young minds and their social responsibilities.
Blood Donation : The RRC units of SRDCH organized a blood donation camp in Sri Ramakrishna Hospital on 13.01.2020 for an emergency need in association with Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Blood bank.
Exposure Visit for Student Volunteers for Blood Bank
RRC of SRDCH organized an exposure visit to Sri Ramakrishna Hospital Blood bank on 05.03.2020 to learn about the process of collection, storage and separation of blood components.
The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated in the College premises. The Principal hoisted the national flag and all the members paid respect to the national flag. The struggle behind and the importance of Independence Day was remembered by rendering of patriotic songs.
This was followed by the sapling plantation program. Adopt a Tree Plantation program is an initiative by the SNR Sons Charitable Trust as a part of green initiative. The NSS volunteers from all Sri Ramakrishna Educational Institutions took part in the event. The NSS, YRC, RRC volunteers and other student volunteers took active part in the program that included de-weeding the area and planting saplings. More than 5000 trees were watered, cleaned and nurtured during this event.
International Prosthodontist Day celebrated on 22.01.2021 at our institution premise and conducted various programmes like public awareness regarding negligence in replacing the missing teeth to the patients and e- poster competitions for all undergraduate and post graduate students with various topics emphasizing the importance of replacing missing natural teeth with innovations and recent advances.
The 72 Republic Day was celebrated by Sri Ramakrishna Dental College & Hospital, NSS Unit through flag hoisting ceremony. The National Flag was hoisted by Dr J Dinakar, principal and all the attendees paid their respects to the National Flag. Dr J Dinakar gave a brief speech about the importance of the Republic Day and the importance of Constitution of India.
World Oral Cancer Day 2021 organised by Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology from 03.02.2021 to 05.02.2021. Awareness programme was conducted for patients which was done via survey, assessing and sharing knowledge about oral cancer, its etiology, its risk factors and early signs and symptoms. Poster presentation, paper presentation and slogan writing competition conducted for undergraduate students.
International Oral and maxillofacial Surgeons Day celebrated in our college organised by department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery on 13.02.2021 within the college premises. The gathering was addressed by Dr.L.Deepanandan, Principal and Head of the Department, OMFS, SRDCH. We conducted Quiz competition for undergraduate students followed by prize distribution as regards of this day.
CONS- ENDO day celebrated by Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics on 05.03.2021. The interns showcased different posters that were designed for patient education on various topics such as prevention of dental caries, management of avulsed teeth and restoration of teeth. Patient education program about different dental conditions and prevention and management of dental caries, avulsion, fractured teeth etc. was done.
INSTITUTE – INDUSTRY CONNECT as a part of CONS ENDO WEEK celebrated by Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry on 12.03.2021. The Principal Dr.L.Deepanandan and the Head of the Department Dr.V.Prabhakar welcomed the speaker in the beginning. The programme started with the lecture by Dr. Vinod Kumar on the significance of magnification in Restorative Dentistry and appraisal of the audience about current options available for aesthetic restoration of teeth.
On account of International Women’s Day 2021, Taekwondo self-defence workshop was conducted by Mr Sijukumar K K, founder of CODISTA, Taekwondo association for the teaching and non- teaching lady staff’s on 08.03.2021. The gathering was first addressed by Dr.L.Deepanandan, Principal, SRDCH and a token of appreciation was handed over to Mr Sijukumar K K for conducting the workshop.
The intern’s induction program was successfully conducted from March 15th to 17th 2021. The program was inaugurated by our Principal Dr.Deepanandan, which was followed by the welcome address. The general code of ethics to be followed during the internship was given by the vice Principal Dr. Koshy. All the heads of the departments then gave a small brief about the learnings that they can achieve in their respective departments during their internship. The inaugural session was later followed by the regular session as per the agenda for the next three days. The valedictory function was held on March 17th 2021. Interns shared their feedback about the induction program. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr.P.Ambalavanan which was followed by the national anthem.
As a part of employee welfare activity, the institution facilitated a program in collaboration with the LIC to introduce the various polices and products of LIC. The policies were well explained by branch manager Mr. Raja followed by Mrs.Preetha and Mr.Durairaj. The program was attended by 23 employees of Sri Ramakrishna Dental College and Hospital including both the teaching and non-teaching staffs. The talk was followed by an interactive session where the staffs were clarified about their queries regarding the policies.finally the program was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr.P.Ambalavanan..
