Pharmacology is the scientific discipline that studies the mechanisms by which drugs alter biological systems in an attempt to improve health and alleviate disease. The broad goal of teaching undergraduate students in pharmacology is to inculcate rational and scientific basis of therapeutics keeping in view of dental curriculum and profession. This discipline deals with pharmacokinetics, mechanism of action, molecular approaches, therapeutic action & ADR of drug on biological systems which played an introductory pillar towards therapeutics and future medicine. 

Department of Pharmacology in SRDCH is an integral part of the Basic Medical Sciences departments. This department is bestowed with an excellent team of qualified academicians and researchers to lay foundation in basic sciences and research.  The Department library houses numerous books to enrich the knowledge in pharmacology.

About Department

The vision of the department is to train both undergraduate and post graduate students, who may subsequently go on to exciting research, regulatory and administrative careers in academic, industrial and healthcare provision settings. This department is with deep commitment to train and educate the dental students so as to promote good prescribing skills and also in research.

The students are also given the opportunity to learn new concepts through seminars, group discussions and role play. We are constantly motivating students to participate & present scientific papers in various national and international conference. We are educating and training the undergraduate and postgraduate students of SRDCH to come out with the highest calibre so that they will be globally recognisable academically. Faculties feel proud on their role in imparting subject knowledge and high-quality professional training besides inculcating human values to the students.
